10. I am fascinated by the stories and pictures but her motorcycle story has been rumored to be a hoax |
|
I don't have any links to back it up but a common consensus is that she and her husband took a tour of Chernobyl and carried a motorcycle helmet to pose with.
Still found all her pictures very thought-provoking and sobering.

6. OMG - a shortened life |
|
is one thing but to risk causing ones whole life to be this much pain is not acceptable. Nuclear is not the answer.

7. Tell me again, nuke power proponents, how much we NEED... |
|
...nuclear power reactors after viewing Paul Fusco's photographs.
FUCK nuclear power, FUCK the nuke industry's black-hearted shills & political lobbyists, and FUCK their bullshit talking points.
All this misery and suffering so these billionaire madmen can boil water to spin some fucking turbines...it's insanity.

9. Okay. We still need nuclear. |
|
Sorry, but there it is. Maybe we wont in a four or five years if we really invest enough, but until then we do.
Until then, unless you feel like pulling the plug on 20% of our safest and cleanest power generation, that's just how it is.
More, since we are now using horror pictures and tragic accidents to make our case, I am sure you would have no objection if we banned all cars, all aircraft, killed ALL electrical power, banned FIRE, banned medicine, and the list goes on and on. All of them kill a thousand times more people every year than nuclear has killed in it's existance.
You're cool with that right? Or better still try this. Just ban them all from your life. Turn your computer off, lose the car and stove and central heat, flush your medicine cabinet, throw away your matches (don't want you even tempted to cheat and light a fire -- that shit is deadly), do it yourself and see how long you survive. But for me, I will stick with what I have, perfect or not, and look forward to a day when emotionalism no longer trumps reason.

11. Alternatives are available, they work... |
|
...and they will not potentially render entire geographic regions and its human/animal life unviable for extended periods of time.
The problem is, the Enemies of the People - big energy/nuke transnationals - have bought off every single possible politician over the last 50 years to promote/legislate into existence whatever level of nuclear power we now unfortunately "rely" upon. The whole industry was born out of the fear of "communism," for fuck's sake!
And in the process, the concept of de-centralized, renewable, environmentally friendly forms of energy production have been swept under the rug.
Your strawman arguments regarding other, non-related to nuclear power, forms of technology are disregarded due to their level of bullshit and idiocy.
I'm not a "luddite," as you infer, I'm a proponent of non-nuclear, non-carbon-based, decentralized forms of energy production, which clearly exist, and would blossom with the kind of taxpayer subsidies which the nuclear power lobby has enjoyed - as the CEOs rake in the $$$ - over the last five decades.
Sorry pal, never have, and never will, support your version of nuclear powered insanity "reason."
