KUFO, RIP. Another great radio station bites the dust...
KUFO has long been a prime spot for hard rock and hard talk in the Portland metro area. After 20+ years, they are dead, and will now simulcast a conservative AM talk-radio channel.

This is deeply fucked-up on multiple levels.

In salute to two decades of great programming, in memento mori and in fucking anger, here's the Dead Kennedys: "Kill The Poor"

3. Yes, I've long felt that PDX suffered from a shortage of propaganda...
although the profusion of hipsters in skinny jeans and big sunglasses can be a bit Borg-like. ;)

4. I wonder about the future of music stations
With ipods and car stereos that connect to them, I haven't turned on a radio in about a year.

I can connect my smartphone to the car and listen to a large library of music, audio books, etc. or I can launch Pandora or Slacker Radio

There are better alternatives to constant advertisements on the radio.

5. Hmm my BlackBerry has a radio app so I can listne to the radio wherever I want.
We actually lost one station that was a mixture of genres. We listened to it at work. My boss said please find a station and the only requirements? Not County and not Christian Crap-her words not mine.
