BBC: Japanese Emperor "deeply worried."
This just seemed ridiculous to me. I'm not sure why. Maybe the thought of the ruling class, if that's what the Japanese Emperor still is, suddenly deciding to say something in an effort to be relevant.

He may be a figurehead, but he is beloved by his people. His words are meant to bring comfort. That's all.
