Governor Flintstone's (Christie's) Prize Prosecutions Being Tossed
Christie rode the publicity from a massive public corruption prosecution he engineered to election as NJ's governor. His office utilized some questionable tactics and relied upon an undercover cooperating witness who was facing major jail time to snare some public officials for his political aggrandizement. This doesn't absolve some of the corrupt local officials who took, mostly illegal campaign donations, but it also exposes Christie for the ruthless blowhard that he is. Someone who will do anything to gain power. Well, it looks like a number of the prosecutions that he made his name on were improper. Who would have thought?

2. Wasn't Fred a little fitter?
You know, working in the quarry all day (albeit in a comfy seat on the back of a dinosaur)?

I haven't liked Christie from Day One, but there are a lot of Reagan Democrat types who think he's a big hero. We have the same situation next door in PA -- "Mr. High Profile Prosecutor" doesn't translate into "Mr. Good Governor"

4. The title of your OP does not accurately reflect the story you linked to
From the link in your OP:

Brothers Louis and Ronald Manzo, among 46 people rounded up in the massive 2009 corruption sweep, are due in court at 10 a.m. A federal appeals court last month upheld a lower-court decision throwing out the most serious extortion charges against the two brothers.

Louis Manzo, a former candidate for Jersey City mayor, and Ronald Manzo, his campaign manager, still face charges of bribery and mail fraud, but their extortion charges were thrown out by a federal judge in 2010.

The judge ruled that the brothers could not be charged under the federal Hobbs Act because they were not public officials at the time of their alleged crimes.

The extortion charges were thrown out because they weren't public officials at the time of their alleged crimes so they can't be charged under the Hobbs Act, but they're still being prosecuted for bribery and mail fraud.

6. Kinda like Palin's
run for Governor...setting up the other repubs in stings that went nowhere - but she was able to call them corrupt and win off their backs.
