OK, a followup on the protests and rally in Nashville....... |
|
yesterday.
Firstly, I don't keep up much with the MSM. I read the paper every morning and occasionally catch some of the MSNBC nighttime lineup, but here's something I noticed THIS AM in the Tennessean.
Bigger headlines, a longer article, and FINALLY an acknowledgment that yesterday's rally was just the LATEST in a SERIES of rallies. Why did all of this media attention happen? I'm convinced it's because some folks had the BALLS to get arrested in the Legislative chamber yesterday. Nothing focuses the media's attention like an arrest (or several).
Just some food for thought for all those folks who complain about the LACK of media interest.

3. There was no violence or killing, just chanting and..... |
|
the arrests. Pure Gandhi, MLK style civil disobedience and it STILL got more press than our other 3 rallies combined.

4. It is beginning to appear that the National Media wrongly believes |
|
that if they do not cover something, then it really never happened.
Of course they are wrong.
It is up to the pesky interneter to keep these stories alive.

(a little over a year posting) I am SO proud of this Internet community. I see stuff on here WEEKS before I run across it elsewhere.

6. The sad thing for me is that The Tennessean USED to lean liberal |
|
Now they're just the same old corporate bullshit spewers as everyone else. After receiving their paper every day for 20 years, I canceled my sub last year and haven't missed it a bit. I have a link to their mobile page on my phone, but they don't even bother to update the stories on there but once every few days, and usually only the top story in each section then. How many times do they think I need to read about the best hamburgers in Nashville?
