So to win the future we have to think positively, but when we talk about going green |
|
we're told that's not possible and we have to be realistic.

I'm really sick of them.
This is serious and discussion and reading is urgently needed... beyond urgent... we should have never stopped the progress that started during the Carter administration.

We're just not going to do anything differently that might inconvenience the wealthy, especially not resource extraction industries.

It's either a panacea or the status quo, and I just don't get that thinking.
Whatever happened to the pursuit of low hanging fruit first?

5. To me it is not so much all or nothing. If I am not mistaken nukes |

currently supply about 12% of our energy needs and the plants are all getting old. With oil depletion coming on fast we cannot just rely on coal and nukes. The coal companies are promising clean coal but I see not real results. That leaves a big gap between the energy we use and what will replace it when it is gone. What are we doing to fill the void left when oil becomes scarce or just too expensive? We need to direct the energy we have now to building as much renewable sources as we can. The manufacture of almost all of our energy sources relies on oil.
Personally I do not think we can count on any sources to continue the status quo. We are also going to have change our lifestyles.
