Democrats won't participate in Building Commission meeting

Sen. Fred Risser (D-Madison) and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Madison) are refusing to participate in the state Building Commission's meeting Wednesday because no more members of the public are being let into the room.

"It's not a public meeting if you don't let the public in," Pocan said.

Al Fish, vice chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Frank Hoadley, who handles bonding for the state Department of Administration, were not allowed in the room because it was full.

Fish said he had been attending commission meetings for about 20 years and could not recall being denied admittance before.
