Here is my Christmas story..which is more heart warming than 'Gift of the Magi' |
|
I was about 16 years old. My mother was let go from the bank..actually cause she was 1 year within being vested..but they used some other excuse. I was in a restaurant bathroom and a girl left her pocketbook on the sink and went into the stall...hell...I did not have a pocketbook which was as important then as a cell phone is now...and so I stole her pocketbook...
I did not want the money or the ID..I only wanted the pocketbook...well the police found me out pretty quickly...I gave the ID to some friend who obviously told the police...and I was quickly caught...
My mother was beside herself that I should steal from ANYBODY..she turns in $20.00 bills found in a pharmacy... I told the police why I stole the pocketbook...not for the money..but because I wanted a pocketbook to look like all the other 16 year old girls in America...and my mother made sure everything was returned, including the money....WE HAD NONE...PAYING RENT WAS DIFFICULT...and no charges were brought against me.
The next month was Christmas, I had gotten a job at some retail store that suckered in sailors..and got to charge against my future earnings a watch, for my mother's Christmas present (probably a cheap one..I never knew the difference)
Then came Christmas day...I presented my mom with the watch and she cried...and I got one present...A POCKET BOOK...a cheap one to be sure..but it was MY pocketbook!
I will tell you...we had Christmas's with presents that filled the bottom of the tree..but this Christmas is one that I will cherish forever!

9. What I am going to do is... |
|
PM you tomorrow.
A heart-warming story such as yours deserves company, but I do not wish for mine to enter the public domain.
Until then, Merry Christmas Eve.
