Does the admin even CARE that the Saudis have sent storm troopers into Bahrain? |

They're just going to ignore the whole damn massacre, won't they?
This is what happens when you let a family name a whole country after itself.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42114579/ns/politics-white_house/" President Barack Obama has called King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain to express deep concern over the violence in Bahrain. White House spokesman Jay Carney said Obama stressed the need for "maximum restraint" while speaking to both of the leaders on Wednesday.""

5. Don't you think we've done enough meddling in the affairs of other countries? |
|
This is strictly a matter for the UN. It is none of our business.

6. It's not meddling to say that the Saudis are WRONG to do this |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-16-11 05:16 PM by Ken Burch
(also...it might be that letting the Saudis go on and kill IS the meddling, if you catch my drift...)
If we'd condemn Bush for being cool with this, we have to condemn Obama too.
It's NOT ok "when OUR guy does it".

10. So if Obama makes that statement, what would that achieve? How might that |
|
affect our relationship with the Saudis who, through no fault of Obama's, keep us supplied with the oil we're addicted to? If he makes such a statement and they are irritated by it, how might they retaliate?
AND, I wouldn't be surprised if he HAS voiced his feelings to them privately, but you don't diss another country on the world stage, especially if you're beholden to that country, at least for the foreseeable future.

8. Just because he hasn't told US what's going on behind the scenes, doesn't mean |
|
he's "ignoring" anything.
It's naive to believe we're apprised of all political problems an administration deals with.
There's more at stake than making a statement - actions result in repercussions. He's far more aware than we are, so stop judging him on stuff you've convinced yourself is true.
