I FUCKING!!! Hate Bank of America |
|
So, I go and get myself a little case of cancer (which is evident by a large tumor on my pelvis bone, doc's still stumped as to the origin) and I file for disability insurance with the state of California.
The original file date is 9th of Feb and I get a letter from the CA DI department of my claim amount and when I should get paid. OK?
I read the letter the state sends me and low and behold, bank of america now issues edd/debit visa cards for the disability payment.
WHAT THE FUCK? I say to myself. These greedy fucking crooks have managed to infiltrate the sacred payments of the sick and dieing.
How the fuck did they manage to do this?
It is now the 16th of March and still no edd/debit card from bank of fucking assholes, so I call them.
The nice darth vader impersonator who works for bank of anal trickery takes the call and tells me that I should have received the card. I ask her where the cards are mailed from and it turns out they come from the same place in hell where bank of anaconda dick heads is headquartered. Back east, not the west coast, the state I live in.
So, the bank of shitheads can take their sweet time mailing the cards and draw interests from the cards while the pony express of dead horses slowly makes it's way west, on a hearst, driven by god knows who.
I tell little darth that I have not received any card and she tells me that she can issue an new one and have it expressed mailed to me for, ready???
$10.00. I kid you not. I was flabbergasted. She then said that if I needed it today, she could send it wireless for only $15.00 to a western union within 50 miles of my house.
Are you fucking kidding me?
I am not going to drive 50 miles to pick up a check, fuck you!!!
I calmed down and told here to express mail the mother fucker for the $10.00 charge that they should not be making. Mother Fuckers!!!
I told here to make sure that someone has to sign for it. She agreed, no extra charge.
I want bank of america out of my life. They took my truck, my house, and now they are fucking with the very food I need to put on the table to feed my family while I still live.
Who's the low life politician that decided that b of a should manage disability payments and how much kickback perks is that mother fucker getting off this deal?
GOD DAMMIT, FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK BANK OF AMERICA!!
Here are some extra FUCK BANK OF AMERICA's you can send to b of a, if you wish. I have more than my fair share it seems.
FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA FUCK BANK OF AMERICA
Thanks for letting me rant, I needed to.

At least of paper. On paper the state is still making full payments. On paper they are saving administrative costs for the state. On paper it's a win, win.
But it's accounting voodoo (with all due apologies to voodoo practitioners). Because the money is to pay for it is taken from the very people it should help. It's BS. And it should be criminal.

|
badly they F'ed over their customers. I was lucky to have that option then. I told them I did not want to be associated with the reputation of BOA and especially not to have any of my money/business with them.
A handful of banks have monopolies in this country and it all continues business as usual. Competition is being eliminated in this country as the big guys consolidate and buy up everything in sight.
I don't blame you one bit for being PO'ed, not one bit at all. Community banks get F'ed over everyday in this country.

They have a state owned bank - http://www.banknd.nd.gov/ - whose mandate is to help the citizens and business of the state. Is it any co-incidence that ND is the only state that is in good shape financially. It seems to me that there is little we can do about the fed. But there is tons we can do state to state. And we should.

24. The EBT/Debit card game is making huge money for the banks. |
|
I had read about the growing business in cards some time ago, and that small card companies were rapidly being bought up by subsidiaries of large banks, that they contract out with states ( and now Soc. Sec. ) to deliver the cards, and by fees for use ( such as ATM fees to use them) they are making money at almost every level. I had heard unemployment in Ca. was on the card. Yet another way to insert a middle man between you and your money.

I had cut B of A out of my life because I got tired of all their little nickel and dime charges plus they refused to deposit my significant others 'retirement check' when she was laid off. That's deposit the check not cash it. Said I might be forcing her into making the deposit. She was standing right beside me at the time and assured them that wasn't the case. What made it even worse was they denied the deposit after they had already told us to endorse the check. At that point I closed all my accounts with them with the intention of every doing business with them again. Jump forward 10+ years, I move from California to Vermont and get a home mortgage loan from Countrywide and lo and behold a couple of years later B of A buys up Countrywide and are now threatening to foreclose on my home (a whole nother complicated story). I would like nothing better than to be able to pay them off and I can tell you if for some reason a future loan or credit card (actually I hope to never have to use either of those again) was to come under their control I would do everything possible even if it cost me more money to move the accounts somewhere else.

|
I seem to remember seeing a dateline or 20/20 segment about this and that you are supposed to have been given a choice of direct deposit or mailed checks and if you don't reply to their request they automatically go to a debit card giving them the cash to play with. You may have to talk to a supervisor at BOA...
It is your right to receive your benefits as you request them...
I would contact your disability/pension dept and then BOA to discuss this matter.
I am pretty sure you can cut BOA out of the debit deal. They are still the ones that cut the checks unfortunately...
If you do change it...make it direct deposit to a credit union and get the heck away from the evil succubus.

36. Wells Fargo isn't any better |
|
I have 2 checking accounts at Wells Fargo, well I call them checking but who writes checks anymore, and I keep one for direct deposits and one for paying bills and ordering online and expenses and stuff. Well to keep from paying any fees I have to have a savings account hooked on to each one for OD protection. “Savings account”, that’s another joke, they don’t pay crap for interest . So I keep a little over the minimum in the “savings” in case I screw up or something or one of the direct deposits gets fouled up. Actually Social Security has never been late but my Air Force deposit has gone astray a few times, and don’t even ask about The Charles Schwab payments, private enterprise my ass. Anyway I must have moved too much from the deposit account to the “working” account last night, they let you move money between accounts online for free, and I knew I had a deposit coming in today, so Wells Fargo moved money from savings to checking, my own money mind you, and proceeded to charge me $10 freaking bucks to do it! Well I got on the phone right away this morning and talked to some gal in customer service and she tells me that sometimes the debits are processed before the deposits and that’s what must have happened. What a rip, just another way to scam me for fees, and I told her that in no uncertain terms. Well she agreed to refund the $10 bucks and had the nerve to tell ME to be more careful in the future. Then she asks if there is anything else she can do for me and I ask how about the money they transferred. Well she says I have to move it back myself because she’s not authorized to do so. I’d switch to a credit union in a minute but my wife has one where she gets her teacher checks and it doesn’t always work when we’re on the road in the motor home and she really has problems with it when we travel overseas for some reason., lots of fees and stuff that Wells doesn’t seem to have. Then if that wasn’t bad enough to start the day I just got back from my barber and all the old coots were sitting around flapping their gums about our President playing too much golf and doing some basket ball thing. BS, I reminded them that Eisenhower spent half his time on the golf course and he went to that retreat so much they named it for his grandson.
God what a bunch of geezers.

I always ask if the conversation is being recorded for training and other such purposes, which they always reply yes. I then ask them to cover their ears and tell them that this is not a personal attack.
I then yell into the phone: "FUCK BANK OF AMERICA" and then tell them they can uncover their ears. I always hear a chuckle on the other end of the phone.

I hate them with a white hot hatred, and have never opened an account with them, but they now have both my home mortgage, and my MasterCard.
Both accounts were opened with different institutions, but both accounts or institutions have been bought and sold at least 4 times each, and guess what, the bank that was too big to fail has vacuumed them both up.
I can't afford to re-fi them now, but I would really like to.

We discovered huge blocks of loans (primarily in the southwest & socal) where the property taxes had not been paid - so in arrears that some property was actually being sold at 'tax auctions' by local sheriff's departments. Boy, did BoA have to scramble to fix that mess. Many people did not even know their property had been sold because notice of the sale was sent to the mortgage holder. I was not impressed w/ their solution to insure it did not happen again so I suspect it will or has.

The only people I know the willingly bank with them did so because they have a big name, ended up not caring for it or even hating it, but didn't change out of complacency. I do not like these banking-public sector partnerships one bit.

I thought I was the only one who couldn't stand them sons of bitches. Oh yes I am talking about their mother cousin or anyone else connected to those slimy so and so's. What gets me you have people still dealing with banks. If they are not holding your Mortgage, then I say fuck banks altogether. Why would anyone be investing or putting their money in an institution that is guilty of ripping off the people. Oh yes those motherfuckers are guilty!!!!!!They settled on an out of court settlement of over 74,000,000 million dollars to be divided up between all the people they have stolen money from. Oh and they don't admit to any wrongdoing. When I found out how much I would probably be getting back I offered everybody on DU a drink. Because unless I buy a couple of fifths that 50 dollars won't go far.Oh, I forgot BOA said in their settlement letter on the web that it could be up to five years before I see that 50. I sure hope my partners at DU are not dying of thirst.

59. as the wife of a disabled hubby |
|
You just have to wonder if Bank Of America might be doing this on purpose. They KNOW disabled people need every cent of their money as soon as possible. So they can do the ow, it got delayed in the mail but it will cost you ten bucks to access your money. I personally would look into it. It would not surprise me and they are lucky they didn't have me on the phone because I would have asked that. If they only screw 10 percent on the first payment think of all the ten dollar fees that add up.
I hate thinking this way but too many things happen this way and banks get away with it.

61. BOA sucks. Some advice: Whenever a bank or credit card tells you there is a fee for something, |
|
ask them to waive it. They almost always will. Whenever I have to pay something late, I wait for them to call and then ask them to waive the late fee. The always credit me the amount.

I'd suggest finding a new bank or alternatively a credit union. Although I've found great service and comparably low interest rates with community banks.

The Credit Unions are local. They are not huge, and the employees all live in the area. I see folks who work for the Credit Union in stores, and all over the area. Therefore, not only do the Credit Unions, but their employees as well, help bolster the LOCAL economy.

67. I hate them, too - they're foreclosing on me |
|
Edited on Thu Mar-17-11 09:19 AM by Autumn Colors
They're in the process of taking my house. My profession (medical transcription) is being made obsolete by electronic medical record systems and what little work is left is going to India. My income went down by more than 50% over the last 6 months, so what WAS an affordable, traditional 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (with a downpayment made at purchase) is now unaffordable with any kind of mortgage modification since I can only budget about $500/mo. for housing now. The property value is also probably about $30,000 below the balance of the loan and will go down further since there are two other homes on my street that are being foreclosed. :(
I actually put in a request to do a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, but I guess foreclosure and all its "fees" must be good business for them because BofA denied my request.
The only good part is once this happens, they'll be out of my life. I originated my mortgage with a local bank, who sold it to CountryWide after ONE payment .... and so it ended up at Bank of Scumbags through no fault of my own.
My mom just switched from BofA to a credit union because of all the new fees.
They suck...

|
They managed to fuck up on my car lease when they bought the company I originally was with. Even though they had my checking account from which they took the money they said they never got paid. I spent a month getting daily calls from their collections dept. and faxed them the canceled checks multiple times. They still repo-ed the car -BASTARDS.
Take all your money out of the big banks and go to a local credit union.

Some debit cards issued by the government has fees associated with it for withdrawing. I think the first time is free and then there is an atm type fee after that.
My SSI is deposited straight into my credit union account. You should look through your paperwork to see if that is an option.

...I got behind...way behind...on my Bofa Visa. I'm not proud of that, I don't deny the debt. But it happened.
Got a $1700 check from a client. Went to BofA to deposit it. $1650 of that was earmarked for my rent. Went to the bank the next morning to check my balance and it was $100.
Went inside the bank, found out that the credit card division immediately lifted $1600 at the time of the deposit. Was told "It's in your contract."
Had to call the landlord and tell him "rent is going to be late."
So I immediately withdrew the $100 that they left in my account and never deposited a cent after that. They kept charging a service charge every month. They finally closed the account and sent a collection agency after me for the accumulated service charges. I haven't paid and don;t intend to.

86. Fuck em fer sure. they are thieves |
|
And not just manipulating the system to steal from people, within the bounds of legal thieves.
No.
They are flat thieves.
They literally stole my cash. Not using fee's. They stole my cash, literally at the same level as a guy breaking into my car to steal change from the cupholder.
For a while I was making deposits with a lot of coin. And at that time, they did not have coin counting machines in the branches. So you had to tell them how much it was, they sealed it in a bag, and sent it "downtown" where it was counted and your deposit could be corrected.
I had 3 deposits in a row get corrected down, about $10 short of what I had counted them out to be. So I went to a third party bank and got rolled coin. I dumped it all in a bag and took it to BOA. Sure enough, about a week later, the deposit was corrected down again.
Someone in the process at BOA literally stole money from me. That was when I went in and shut down my bank account. I would love to see more state banks get started, but credit unions are pretty good, in my experience.

...best rants I have read in a long time. Your use of words made me laugh so hard.
I too am waiting to apply for DI here in CA. I heard on the recording that they were paying using Debit cards..."for easy and convenient use." I too was shocked that B of A was able to pull this off.
Anyway...I'm trying to see if I even qualify. But I can't seem to get anyone on the phone at DI. They basically say that "the maximum number of calls has been reached, goodbye."
Frustrating....I'll try again today.

Having electronic tax returns go through banks instead of straight to the IRS. I feel no need to give those vultures their cut, and have yet to file electronically. I'll do it when it is free for *everyone*, regardless of income, and it goes straight to the government.

94. I found a bank (City National Bank) in California, that is more consumer oriented than any bank |
|
I have ever done business with. It's a smaller bank, caters mostly to the entertainment industry, but it's more consumer oriented rather than having a BOA et al type of orientation. The problem is, they are basically a California/NY bank, and have a limited number of branches, which doesn't allow most people the option to bank there. In fact, most people have never heard of them. They're a strong, solvent, smaller bank with a "customer comes first" attitude. I really appreciate the respect and treatment I get from the professionals at this bank, that I never got from BOA. BOA knows how to take your money, but they don't know how to treat people. I agree with your post and have felt exactly the same way when I banked with these pathetic banksters a few years back. FBOA! If you ever find yourself in a position to bank with City National Bank CA, do it, you will be pleasantly surprised. Also, CNB is still run by the family who started it more than 50 years ago, and for me, that's nice to know. Lou

I got a BoA card when I went on unemployment and my reaction was similar to yours. I kind of figured the real reason for the bank bailouts is that most states probably bank with Too Big To Fail, and it would have been a disaster if they went under. Anyway, I had the choice to use direct deposit instead of the card, although they issued the card before I was able to make that choice.

96. In 2003 my sister was working for BoA. She found a lump, went to her doctor |
|
and they determined she was stage 4. She went through the mastectomy, chemo and radiation and seemed to be in decent health - for a while. After about 9 months, she began to feel 'funny' and made an appointment to go to her oncologist - sooner than her regular checkup. Her boss at BoA knew she was not well again and right before her appointment, she was called in and they fired her on the most ridiculous trumped up excuse. She had worked for them for over 10 years and had regular stellar employee evaluations. Her insurance was gone - of course - and it turned out that her cancer had come back and had metastasized to her brain. Unable to afford the massively expensive medical treatments, she suffered horrendously (I didn't know this at the time-she was able somehow to disguise it-I only found out reading her journal after she had passed away) and passed away in June 2004. I hate them too!!!!

Our leaders - Democrat and republican - screw us to serve those that pay them.
You have a righteous rant. But throw some at the people whose salary we pay but who screw you for the money they get from the banks. None of this could happen if our senators, representatives, and president cared more about people than corporations. These kinds of things could be stopped tomorrow and would never have happened if our elected officials didn't want it to.
