which is very unusual. Because I have family here and was here during the 8.8 earthquake last year, I have one of the tabs in my browser come up with the USGS page on earthquakes in South America and I always glance at it.
For the last year, there have always been several (sometimes dozens) of quakes in Chile every day. Some small, many moderate, and a few significant. But there has been NOTHING for a week. Until today.
I was reclined in a recliner reading, and all of sudden I felt the shaking and movement. No noise except for the windows creaking in their frames.
It was interesting, but a 5.3 earthquake here is pretty common. It's just unusual that there has been nothing for almost a week.
