Senators' "Sneak-Attack" on the EPA
Today the Senate will consider two bills that would clamp down on the Environmental Protection Agency's ability to enforce the Clean Air Act. This comes on the day after the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted in favor of Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) Energy Tax Prevention Act, or HR 910, which would overturn the EPA's ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act. Today, the Senate will vote on two items: an amendment introduced by Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) that essentially attaches HR 910 as an amendment to an unrelated small business bill, and a bill by Sen. John D. Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), which puts a hold on the EPA's regulatory powers for two years.

3. What a great commercial for Democrats! ...If we're bold enough to use it.

5. You're kidding right.
There have been an infinite number of times the Dems could have attacked the r's with head smashing ads like this, yet every time they "take the high road". I've been thinking for years that the Dems should be showing ads displaying tombstones for teenage girls and saying that the r's would rather see your daughter dead than allow her to get an abortion. We only work in the world of "nice" and we've all seen where that has gotten us.

6. No, we'll keep taking the high road while America suffers.
Sometimes, graciousness and civility are the order of the day.
Other times, voters want to see someone breathing fire and fighting for their interests tooth and nail.

Whoever talked Al Gore out of going on the attack against Shrub's Texas (and business) record in 2000 was doing him (and all of us, it turns out) a disservice.
