10. Didn't she do a great job! That was the first I've heard anyone explain it so |
|
well. And none of it was a snow job, she was very specific, detailed and explained it so everyone could understand.

6. The first part of her show she had a diagram up and went through exactly |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-16-11 08:25 PM by RKP5637
what had happened in each reactor, the current situation, what they are doing and sort of a prognosis. There is an enormous amount of spent fuel. #4 is in pretty bad shape with the pool dry for the spent rods.
She went into a lot of detail, best explanation I've heard ever on what happened and is going on. In short, this is, of course, very very serious. The one point she made is the US is no longer taking what is going on just by word of Japan, they feel they are not getting the whole story.

34. Regardless of the situation, she always explains it better than anyone else, IMO. |
|
She sets the background, goes over it point by point, and does it in a way that simplifies it and makes sense. She's mighty impressive.
I recorded it so I'll be sure to watch it tomorrow - thanks!

5. Rachel continues to do what she always does - |
|
research an issue to the nth degree in order to understand it as completely as possible, then present that information to the audience in an incredibly clear and intelligent manner, without a trace of condescension.
Have I mentioned how much I :loveya: her?

|
But it's better than that. I have a lot of wingnut family members, and I've got two of them watching her show as well. Oh they are still teabaggerish, but they just like her approach and presentation. They've told me they already know what Hannity is going to say about pretty much any issue, CNN is boring, so Maddow is the best thing on TV.
Personally, of the MSNBC lineup I still like Ed the best, but Maddow is a very close second.

|
I like all of them for various reasons. Ed it fantastic. Ed is one of my favorites and, of course, definitely Rachel. ... but all of them offer a lot. Ed gets me stirred up before bedtime, so I have to try and calm down after watching Ed. He gets me wound up! Great show too!

24. What I love about Ed... |
|
..is that he doesn't fit the sort of "intellectual liberal" stereotype.
He comes off as a hard charging, blue collar, average working guy. A take no crap, working class kind of progressive. Ed makes no apologies for his positions and is a huge breath of fresh air in my opinion.
Maddow is, as someone else said before me, like a teacher and has crossover appeal.
Like you, I watch the whole lineup and Ed does kind of end on a fired up note - I think I preferred him at 6 PM myself. O' Donnell is good, but I miss Keith. We need to do something about Matthews in my opinion. He is the weakest link and I feel that 7 PM time slot is going to waste.

|
lets get something accomplished and stop the BS. He must appeal to a lot of hard working people. I like his style too! He reminds me of the kind of democrats I grew up with.

"He reminds me of the kind of democrats I grew up with."
Blue collar, union, sensible, common sense with a little bit of a populist streak, working class, etc. The kind of folks that made America. Ed really reminds people how badly we've lost our way.

18. Thank you for posting this. My wife and I have watched the last two nights |
|
and she is stating and explaining the situation very very clearly.
Reactor 4 is done. And as Rachel points out the sole purpose right now is to make the site safe enough for people to go die saving it.

I showed it to my 10-year-old. She was riveted. |
|
Usually she zooms through the family room on her way to or from the backyard without stopping to pay attention to the news. After watching Rachel's show on Monday, I recorded the re-broadcast and showed it to my daughter Tuesday morning.
Guess who plopped her butt down on the couch 2 minutes before Rachel's show on Tuesday night?

25. Did ya hear the part about the carrier USS Reagan passing through the nuke cloud? |
|
The stupidity is too much to believe. Is our military really that fucking stupid? WTF IMO only a stupid fucker would join our military. WTF The fucking carrier didn't have the tech or sensors to avoid passing through a nuke cloud? Totally unacceptable. There is no reason they could ever offer as a reasonable excuse for that shit. WTF I am so pissed at and about our military slowly killing our own military personnel. You can't ever trust them ...NEVER!
Military men are just dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy. - Henry Kissinger
