8. That may be for the best - check out this hideous eyesore.


I'm ok with most of his stuff, and even like a few buildings, but the Experience Music Project building is beyond awful. Especially sitting right next to the Space Needle, which for all its Space Age Zeerust is a nice looking building.

Is is message architecture?

Bilbao's big modern art museum gehry designed has been beset by problems since soon after it was built.

And another reason to hate Gehry: metal as a durface for buildings increases heat in the atmoshere.

The most environmental friendly buildings are steel or wood framed cement block (concrete and cement blocks have air pockets which make for built in insulation) construction covered with stucco. Adobe is best of all. :)

12. We sometimes see stuff like that here on the west coast.
In '89 parts of West Oakland, that Marina District in SF and the mall in Santa Cruz looked very much like that.
