This was the sound of the quake that rocked Japan

Roiling water swept away homes, highways and the cars driving on them as waves 10 metres high hit the country's Pacific coast after the magnitude 8.9 quake, the biggest in nearly a century.

3. this is what is sounded like underwater... in Spain

Seismologist in Spain say they have captured the sound of last week's earthquake off the coast of Japan. Sensors planted on the ocean floor picked up the sound from deep within the earth. The data was then sped up and amplified to make it audible to humans.
