4. I think this is more reflective of the countries dislike of fossil fuels
It has been a long time since any debate re: nuclear development and people need to get ahead of the curve.

5. Boy, this is discouraging -

Expand it 49% 88231
Keep status quo 26% 46537
Reduce it 26% 46299

Total votes: 181067

And this isn't calling for anything drastic such as Shut them all down now!, merely reduce it.

WTF is the matter with Americans? The EU is taking note, look at Germany.

6. Choices are...
Expand it alot..

Expand it a little...

Expand it some more...

Expand it a whole bunch...

Keep it the same, only more...

Jeezus H. Kriste, what a pitiful excuse for a poll.

9. You make the assumption that everyone on DU is on the same page regarding this issue.
I know there was some idiom regarding assumptions...

10. Apparently not everyone is delusively paranoid.
How should the United States approach the production of nuclear power?

This is not a scientific poll
Expand it 49% 93563
Keep status quo 26% 49066
Reduce it 26% 49055
Total votes: 191684
This is not a scientific poll

Green may be nice, but it doesn't have the energy to reproduce itself. It takes other energy sources to build and maintain.
Taking into consideration economies of scale, nuclear is the most efficient with large plants and doesn't cover up up many square miles.

13. These people (if they really are people) that voted this up would think differently
if they had a meltdown in their backyard.

14. Thanks for the heads-up. Since the pro-environment position is "expand it," I voted accordingly.
