Step 7: Declare War on Defense Dollars |
|
Edited on Fri Dec-24-10 11:48 PM by Ripley
I opened a gift from a relative tonight (they exchange gifts on the Eve) and he sent me Glenn Beck’s “Broke” book, knowing damn well how left I am. I have always dismissed Beck as a clown and didn’t realize how much he is brainwashing Americans.
Looked at the table of contents and my attention was immediately drawn to Part III: The Plan, number 19 - Step Seven: Declare War on Defense Dollars. (Meaning this is step seven in the liberal take-over) So I flip to page 319 and see a quote from Osama Bin Laden on the facing pg. 318 “We are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy. Allah willing, and nothing is too great for Allah.”
Don’t know if OBL said that, or when because there is no citation. Funny how the people who are REALLY bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy are the Proud American (as well as multinational) war profiteers and investment bankers. However, I got really fucking steamed when I read the first four sentences of this chapter:
“Nothing matters more than national defense. Nothing. National defense is the cradle inside which all our freedoms rest. Not to be too dramatic, but you can’t freely worship, work, or speak if you’re dead.”
Further into the chapter:
“When President Reagan was facing tough budget decisions back in the early 1980’s, he said he got literally hundreds of letters from soldiers telling him “If giving us a pay cut will help our country, cut our pay.” That gives me shivers just to write it. These men and women love America in a way that many of us will never understand.”
The layers of bullshit in that paragraph rival the Queen of England’s birthday cake.
Skipped around and found this on pg. 67: “Part of FDR’s solution was to link economic security for all Americans to the Constitution – an idea that our Founders never contemplated. To accomplish that, the free-market system itself would need to be modified. Capitalism, with its focus on individual wealth, could not secure a bright future for all – but the government could. It was a classic “rights of man” versus “rights of men” battle, and FDR chose to fight for the so-called greater good.”
How horrible of FDR!
Wonder who really wrote this book. And I can’t read any more of it because it is so ugly and selfish.
Happy Holidays to all...

If not for our failed foreign adventures we wouldn't have any terrorist enemies to justify all this defense spending. And there is no justification for it anyway. The threat is hugely exaggerated. Now that there is no longer a Soviet Union TPTB have made up a new threat, a boogie man, to justify military spending. There is less justification for all this spending than at any time in our history.
