Japan: Who is going to bell the cat?
Is this coming to the point that the answer is to build an enclosure like Chernobyl? And if so, does that mean that we're looking at a suicide mission for anyone who works on the project? If we are, is it possible to establish a contract with the people who are going on this mission so they can be compensated for their sacrifice? They could get free medical and a tidy sum to go to their beneficiaries?

Since it is in our global interest to tamp these things down ASAP, maybe all countries could contribute to the pot?

Everything being done is a temporary fix to get the situation under control not resolved.

How is this thing resolved??

4. What I fear --
is this is all being made up as they go along. Whatever emergency plans had been pt in place and are null and void under the current circumstances. There was a great passage in "The Right Stuff" in which a test pilot is going down and fast. He is telling the tower he is trying emergency plan A. Emergency plan B. Emergency plan C. Emergency Plan D. And on he goes, right up until he augers into the ground. I just read an article in whch someone was saying this could go on for weeks -- and I think I now understand why that is. :(

7. Hopefully it won't come to that
I'm hoping power is restored to the plant and they can automate the cooling mechanisms.

8. I think TEPCO exectives past and presentand govt offficals who've conspired to falsify
safety records and cut corners should be sentenced to that task. If necessary at the point of a gun.
