That's THREE!!!
I just got an email from one of my closest friends. She’s a Republican...or...was. She just told me she’s had it and she’s switching to Independent. So...I called her to congratulate her on her “first step”.

Her: Okay. Now what do I do?
Me: Well, you have to start smoking pot and stop shaving your armpits.
Her: What?!
Me: Seriously. First thing you have to do is work on your sense of humor.

This is the THIRD friend of mine that has switched to Independent in less than two friggin’ weeks!!! Okay...I know it’s “only” Independent, but this is Arizona. Independent is a huge step for these people. And, don’t forget who their mentor is going to be. They’ll all be voting Democratic in ‘12, I promise!!! Oh...and there will be more...yes, there will.

:patriot:

P.S. My first "journal" thingy. Be gentle. Just had to share this with some of you. I'm just so damned excited I can't contain myself.

2. Nice job, Republicans! I hope you and your friend live in one of those
states governed by Republican Governors who think they are King Shit, and can do anything they want!

If you and your friend live in Massachusetts, it probably doesn't matter. All we have to do here is get rid of Scott Naked Cozmo Brown

I didn't see the "news" until after this. I would have chosen a more appropriate subject line.

4. What the Republicans are doing now is NOT democratic.
And they are not doing anything about jobs. They are trying to implement libertarianism at any cost.

12. Yes, I know...
I thought about rewording it, but I'm lazy. That and AZ Independents are normally tea people so it's taken on a bad vibe here.

What are the issues that bother your friends? And have they stopped listening to Limbaugh and Beck? (This is an important step in the recovery process.)

have it, some great links to 'good' sites!

18. Not FOX fans...
...I think that's part of why they've switched. They're tired of their own party being FOX puppets.

Two of them are women and were disgusted about the Planned Parenthood thing. The one guy was a former Wisconsinite and Packer fan and was furious at how Walker and his cronies are screwing his state. They've all voiced some opinions over the past couple of years and we've always been able to talk openly about our views. The one today wasn't too much of a shock. The other woman (my bff, believe it or not) was a complete shock. Years of me picking on her finally made her crack, I guess.

All three have always hated Beck, Palin and Limbaugh. Fairly moderate Republicans for AZ.

20. Planned Parenthood, as far as I can tell.
She's pro-life, but reasonable. She's in her early 30s and can't have kids so I give her that.

But, she isn't stupid. She knows what a huge service Planned Parenthood has provided to women over the years.

25. I'm actually the oldest of my friends.
They start on them young in AZ. The ones that move here are brainwashed at the border. I think the only reason I made it through is because of the Harley Davidson bumper sticker on my window. They apparently didn't see the Apple sticker below it.

19. The first thing I thought when I read your dialog was - Be gentle!
And then I saw that you thought about that, too.

Whenever I talk with people who I think are right wingers I usually say something like, "Good people have been taken advantage of by some very crafty Republican politicians". Soft soap, but it seems to keep the conversation in the realm of commiseration even though I let people know I'm a liberal - an old fashioned FDR liberal.

This IS a big deal. We know what the right thinks...what is important is that the more middle-of-the-road voters are seeing they are SO much more radical than us liberals.
