1. What I think is "awesome" is that the United Nations authorized action not just individual countries
or regional groups.

5. Exactly
It's not the U.S. or NATO or the EU--it's the world's nations, acting in concert under UN authority. And it includes participation by Arab League states.

15. Come on. "the world's nations" that`s a joke.
The Arab League. My ass.
You know who invited the Empire to raid Libya? Autocrats, Kings, Dictators, Torturers, Islamists of the worst kind. At this point in time the Arab League is headed by that fine crop of heads of state.

And not everyone was ok with the decision.

Maybe the deal with Bahrain and Saudi Arabia was: You invite us into Libya, we help you to smite your opposition.

18. Why would I enlist?
No boots on the ground. We will only use fighter pilots to strategically take out targets.

30. And if you think in time boots will not be needed
I got a real huge grain of cesium... no war has ever been won by a strategic air campaign... not a one.

Now who will those be those boots? If those are ours we need a draft sonny.

(I suspect France, they are really itching to send in the Foreign Legion, and yes I do know that this is not just humanitarian either)

If this remains on only boots in rebels... the we will not need a draft.

31. I really think this is a just move against a very bad actor...Look at him now
today, bombing his own people over and over, he really wants to do as much damage as possible, kill as many as possible, before the no fly zone is implemented :(

The overwhelming support of DU for this sham of a "war" is ironic.

..and sad.

This looks and sounds exactly like Iraq to me... sometimes literally word for word.

like France did with Iraq. We have no right to start another war (just like the last two).

tired of the US being the 'world police force.' It has become too expensive in terms of the lives of our husbands, wives, fathers, siblings, children other relatives, as well as lives of civilians in places that are being blasted to smithereens, and money - money that a) we don't have and b) if we did could well be used for stuff in the US.

Is that still a peace symbol?

USA!! USA!! USA!!

I heard Stimulus III will be announced tonight, the purchase of 10,000 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles to replace the 10,000 to be fired next week.

Raytheon stocks will soar on Monday from the insiders who know the attack is coming. Speculators include investors from the Congress and teh White House.

They're quite a bargain at only $600,000 each.

:sarcasm:
