VANDENBERG AFB - A C17 Cargo Aircraft landed at Vandenberg Air Force Base to pick up 17-tons of Boric Acid. The coolant is headed for earthquake and tsunami stricken Japan.

The shipment was delivered to Vandenberg AFB from PG&E's Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant to help the disaster at Japan's nuclear plant.

http://www.kcoy.com/Global/story.asp?S=14271824I feel good about this. It's good that we keep the boric acid on the El Diablo Nuclear Plant site and are willing to share what we have for Japan in its hour of need. Also, I don't think we are going to need the boric acid in the future as it looks like momentum is building to get rid of this nuclear plant or at least not renew the licenses on it.
