I couldn't help but think of Fred Rogers yesterday.
Throughout the Republican's charade of stripping NPR.

If you haven't yet seen this video, it's definitely worth it. Fred Rogers testifying before Congress back in 1969 in support of public broadcasting.

It's a shame he's no longer around.

5. Cut public broadcasting funds and save a pittance.
Cut defense slush funds for defense systems that will be obsolete by the time it is finally developed, or cut funds to defense security contractors who act recklessly and without morals, and save billions upon billions upon billions.

Gee, which is the better choice?

6. I heard some congresswoman (R) on the radio the other day
Saying that taxpayer dollars shouldn't be used for a news network that some people disagree with. I was wondering why, if that were the case, my taxpayer dollars were going to pay her salary, because I disagree with her.

7. My kids grew up on a heavy diet of PBS programming.
I will forever be indebted to Fred Rogers for making it possible.

And he did it without notes or teleprompter.
