32 Dem + 32 Rep. senators sign letter urging Obama to join them in Deficit talks.

The senators urged broadly accepting the recommendations made by the
commission created by Obama himself (which includes decreasing government
spending as well as stopping tax-cuts for corporations....).

Hey, people, Is bi-partisanship really beginning to work?

so called 'conservatives' I would say the di-partisan shit is not working for us.

If they want to get rid of the deficit let them cut the military and raise TAXES on the rich and the fucking parasitic Corporations.

3. The commission did not make any recommendations
It did not come to the necessary 14 out of 18 member approval consensus.

The heads of the commission and the deficit hawksvultures in its majority took it upon themselves to make their own recommendations, which Paul Krugman characterized as "a PowerPoint that is one part stuff that has long been on the table, one part conservative wish-list, and one part just weirdly ill-considered."

There was a reason why no consensus was reached: the majority proposal was unacceptable, because the conservatives wanted everything, including some things Democrats should not budge on.

This particular case of bipartisanship did not work, and it should stay dead.

4. You're right. It sounded too good to be true. Corporatists will
continue in their attempts to rip off the nation of every red cent --
which, of course, is also self-destructive, because evenutally people
will revolt. History is full of examples.
