the country and the energy industry.

2. Or acting as the plant safety manager, or the regulator in charge of oversight.

That said, neither is it rocket surgery.

Once you understand the basic concepts, receive ongoing training, a safe design and decent, working monitoring equipment, it's not a whole lot different than running a coal plant.

It's the owners and regulators who have failed us, not the concept of nuclear power.
