4. The map is inaccurate. It doesn't cover small plants
at institutions doing research. There are three near me and the map shows none in the entire state; one is at the university and two are at national labs.

Those dinosaur nuclear missile silos are still out there, after all.

13. It sure is way off!
It has us located 101 miles from the Crystal River plant and in reality we are over 140 miles away.

19. Unfortunately, in my case it's pretty accurate, showing us essentially surrounded
here in western Chester County PA.

But actually, I think the value of this is not in fine-detail information, but simply in getting more people to understand how many of these are scattered around the US, especially East of the Mississippi.

Everybody has to get their own specific information, including how old are your neighborhood plants and how much spent fuel is stored there. Also, with older plants, where is the plant in the NRC process of extending licenses for 20 more years beyond the 40 years they were originally designed for. And now I read the NRC wants to go for 60 years and beyond.

Lots to find out.

15. I confirm this. The USN has two reactors in Goose Creek SC.
Neither of which appear on this map. Long Beach CA, Norfolk VA, Pearl, Bangor WA, Groton CT, etc... should all be on this map, and they are most certainly not on the map.

36. Those reactors are permanently stationed as part of the NNPT program.
There are two prototype schools, one in upstate New York, the other in Goose Creek SC. I went to Goose Creek for my own training at NNPTC and then to the Charleston prototype. Those bases I listed will almost always have at least one reactor in harbor at all times with the exception of wartime. Norfolk has a major shipyard which performs all nuclear carrier refueling and most major maintenance. Not to mention the ~six submarines that are home ported there. One of those submarines will almost always be in port, more commonly three or four of them will be in port.

a tsunami is not a possibility

I didn't say I was worried about the containment, just that it was new information to me.

FYI this is the plant that "The China Syndrome" movie was based on. Also the book "We Almost Lost Detroit" (Fermi 1 reactor).
