I've been on 4chan for some time, as I went there for the "origami" and "cute anime images" boards. I heard about the notorious "random" (/b/) board, and have been observing it since then.

The original Anonymous, much of which still exists today on /b/, ebaumsworld.com, etc., are among the dregs of humanity. Yes, they did post the flashing videos for the "lulz" of having them viewed by epileptics. They routinely post porn that involves degradation of women. They joke about "raep" (= rape) being an acceptable way of dealing with rejection by a woman. They call women "c*mdumpsters" (sorry, I don't know if the full word would not be allowed on this forum, so I've mildly censored it). They use words like f*ggot and n*gger continually, post racist threads, images, and jokes, often about President Obama. They post "gore", pictures of people who have been brutally killed. Although child pornography is not allowed on /b/, a lot of Anons post it anyway, when they think "the mods are asleep."

Their only good side is that, for some inexplicable reason, they love cats. And many of them do, thank God, object to the child pornography.

The newer Anonymous is more socially aware, fighting to preserve freedom of speech, but never forget why they're doing it: To be free to post all this other horrible crap.
