17. There's no such thing as "UN planes."

There are planes of sovereign states - members of the UN. There is no UN force established to handle Libyan affairs. This matter of what implementation means is independently up to the respective member-states. Bermuda could do something, or so could Russia - or not. What is good is that Obama is committed to not dedicating US forces.

It was clear, there will be no ground troops. There will be a few from France and England, but not from the US---of course this is through the UN. The main focus is to engage the no-fly zone. I don't think there will be an automatic take over. I'm sure this bombing is going to mobilize them a bit more---but I think the European nations and the US definitely want to let this take it's course the way Egypt did and I don't blame them. I don't want people dieing, but I sure as hell don't want ours dieing either.

19. Right, the NFZ is not designed to influence the outcome of the war per se.

It is designed to limit non-combatant casualties. If the opposition thought there would be an invasion force to pave their way to power, that would be mistaken. I am NOT saying the opposition thinks this, however.

I'm sure it takes a few hours to days to get a few things organized to get to Libya.
