2. Yeah, too bad most of DU
Doesn't understand Libya's not Iraq and were perfectly content to let the slaughter continue.

11. I was thinking the same thing. Which is why I have this handy...
MANAMA (Reuters) - Bahrain is committed to talks with the opposition but security is a priority and more Gulf troops will arrive in the kingdom to help restore order after weeks of unrest, the foreign minister said on Friday.

Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmed al-Khalifa said three or four Gulf states were sending troops and the forces would remain for as long as it took to bring calm after protests by the Shi'ite majority slid into sectarian violence and crippled the economy.

Their role would be limited to guarding strategic assets such as oil facilities, however, and they will not be involved in quelling protests, he told a news conference in Manama.

"We look with all confidence to the return of normal life in Bahrain," Sheikh Khaled said. "We know dialogue is our path.

Unlike Quaddafi, Sheikh Khaled is not promising to recreate another Rwanda genocide by massacring rebels.

20. +1, thanks for that article.
It did strike me as odd that Bahrain had in a month less deaths than Egypt in two weeks, and less than Libya in a day. It was curious to me that AJE only started following Bahrain on the 18.

"The explosions started about 2 a.m. Gaddafi's forces are advancing, we hear they're 20kms from Benghazi," Faraj Ali, a local resident, said.

"It's land-based fire. We saw one aircraft," he added.
6:49am Large explosions were heard in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, the rebel stronghold, early on Saturday, a Reuters witness said.

A fighter jet could be heard over the city, the witness said, adding that the explosions were strong enough to shake a building.
