would have been for this Tea Partier husband to give permission to use his name and to publicly disaffiliate from his nasty little group.

2. Because many do not click on the link and I think the entire letter is fair use.. |

Dear Honey,
I'm sorry.
I am a conservative husband, belong to the Tea Party and I voted for John Kasich. I have been married to a Cleveland teacher for almost 14 years and my vote let her down.
I apologize:
For letting people tease you about having the summer off and not asking them to thank you for the tough days ahead that begin in early August. I know for a fact you work more hours in those 10 months than many people do in 12. All those hours are earned.
For complaining that my Sunday is limited with you because you must work.
For making you think you have to ask permission to buy a student socks, gloves and hats.
For not understanding that you walk through a metal detector for work.
For leaving dirty dishes in the sink for your 4 a.m. work session. I should know you have to prepare.
For thinking you took advantage of the taxpayers. Our governor continues to live off the taxpayer dole, not you.
For counting the time and money you spend to buy school supplies.
For not saying "thank you" enough for making the world and me better.
I love you.

6. You are welcome. I think that people should see how hard teachers work from the point of view |
|
of people who live with them.
And thank you for bringing this here!

5. I know that you are joking but that is the exact opposite of that tactic that we |
|
should be taking with people have been blind sided with reality.

7. You're right. Having said that . . . |
|
after the damage has been done it's very difficult to say, "Oh it's OK!"
The conservative here will be forgiven by his wife. What I hope is that he can reach out to more loony tea party types and change THEIR minds :)

11. They always think that THEY won't be affected. To bad for him and his dreams |
|
for his family. Now, will he show some sympathy for the poor people that are losing food, housing and medical support?

13. That was my point. Voters that vote for republicans always see "others" that |
|
are abusing the system. There is no need to look farther than the hordes of retired people that underpin the tea party. Those elders have it ingrained in their minds that they have earned every cent of SS and that people that need welfare support and food stamps are the undeserving ones. As much as it is harsh, this poster would like to see democrats allow cuts to SS benefits so that tea bagger elders can see first hand what they voted for. The poor have been losing benefits since Reagan, there is little more that can be taken from the legitimate benefit receivers. While I am one that think there is abuse in programs for the poor, the dollar value of that abuse WILL NOT amount to a mere pittance when compared to the benefits that elder teabagger get. This will piss some off, but for the majority of income levels in the USA, SS benefits that they get at retirement ARE NOT all earned, most wage groups get back more that they pay in, even after standard appreciation of money put in is taken into account. Most elder teabaggers are from lower wage groups, this poster want them to feel the burden of their hatred and self centeredness. I grant that I sound hateful, but I am pissed at elder teabaggers, they are destroying our society.

14. No, it's not hateful at all |
|
you pay into SS, yes, but some of that funding is transferred from current workers.
While I'm always happy when someone gets, finally, what they voted for, I still am slightly disgusted. I worked with a woman whose husband worked for the county as a fire fighter/fire inspector. This is in a very red state. Her two kids are in public schools.
So, she votes for Republicans over and over, due to those "values" they, supposedly stand for, and now her husband's pension is F-upped and he is furloughed a lot w/o pay. But she is strongly against homosexuality and gays and gays' rights, hence her value votes. The public schools lose money, and she's in work hawking candy bars and shit to pay for the kids' basic supplies in school.
Do I feel sorry for her?
Naw. I also stopped buying the crap from school.

17. That's my concern also. |
|
While another vote for the correct side is always welcome, it makes me angry when someone "gets it" only because whatever bad thing that has been happening to a lot of other people (while s/he cheered) has finally happened to him or her.
It also suggests that they will continue to "get it" and to "vote correctly" only as long as they personally are feeling this pain. They never get the principle.

15. The author of that column, Connie Schultz, |

is Senator Sherrod Brown's wife, if I recall correctly.
Having Right-wing Governors is certainly educating people about politics, isn't it.
