Is there really a parallel universe? |
|
I was reading about quantum jumping the other day. For those unfamiliar with QJ, it's a theory that goes something like this. You decide to make a left turn at an intersection instead of a right. You are severely injured, lets say paralyzed for life. The theory as I understand it claims that a parallel universe exists that you would be in had you made a right instead of the fatefully left and, IF you master QJ, you can go there.
This made me start wondering if there really is another universe that the far right lives in that is connected to ours somehow. I just can't understand their total disconnect with reality. They cling to things that are just absurd.
Is there a "Twilight Zone" here in America?

I often feel like I must be a different species - parallel universe would be a simpler answer. :)

14. Does that mean if there was a parallel universe that was opposite of our reality |
|
than in their reality there wouldn't be a parallel universe because they are opposite?

I've wondered why we are trapped in this particular universe, and I think you've just explained it. *This* is the parallel universe where it's impossible to transit to the other universes.
Crap.

It is a good place btw. I was there for a few days when I almost died in 2009. My late parents were there and they were just fine. :)
I always wondered if there was such a place until I ended up there.
It was quite odd after wards. I was "stuck" in-between that place and here for a long time. Why I'll never know until I end up back there again I suspect.

I was born because two cells got together. I'll die, and that will be that. In the meantime, I have a few decades of life to make the most of. Everything else seems irrelevant to me, somehow. I'll leave the worrying about supposed after-lives to someone else. I don't have time for that now.

34. No, actually the gateway to it is in Baudette, MN. |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-19-11 03:03 PM by MineralMan
It's been there for years, but nobody ever goes to Baudette, so it remains little known. If you go there, try the third stall in the Men's room at the Baudette International Airport (BDE). Just as a matter of interest, it's an international airport because they have a couple of flights a day into Canada. Wave your hand three times in front of the infrared flusher and you'll be transported. The last time I tried it, though, I ended up in the same place I started, but the walls in the room were slighly greener. I couldn't tell much of a difference between the two universes. I suppose there might have been a different result on another try, but I was content with the new color, so I left.
Who knows, though...you might have different results and end up in a better universe. Good luck!
P.S.: There are no regularly scheduled airline flights in or out of BDE, so you can't get to that international airport on any airline. Odd, that. You can go to International Falls, though, and rent a car and drive to Baudette to use the inter-universal portal there.

I've also thought that a parallel universe was "spawned" at that moment.

17. For those of you interested in this concept, IMO, "The Elegant |
|
Universe" is a MUST see. "The Elegant Universe" started out as a book by Brian Greene (a physics and mathematics professor at Columbia)and then he came out with the DVD's (which I preferred to the book). I re-watched them the other night. The focus is String Theory and in my mind, it explains a lot.

There are parts of it that I don't understand, but I gained some basic knowledge about quantum physics and I was entertained as well. I pick the book up from time to time and go over parts that I didn't understand before.

13. Nothing so complicated or theoretical. |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-19-11 01:34 PM by RC
It is a miswiring in the brain that distorts their perceived reality or does not allow reality to be real for them. They have trouble telling their own fantasizes from reality. Their leaders (Rush, etc.) know this and dispense the daily talking points. Lacking any real critical thinking skills, the very seldom question what they are being told by their leaders. Hence the lies, revisionist history as fact, their strange simplistic answers to complicated problems and never being at fault for anything they are guilty of.

33. The "many worlds" model |
|
In theoretical physics, quite a few scientists adhere to the "many worlds" model. According to this model, numerous worlds coexist just like radio stations on a frequency band. So, somewhere out there a version of you could be asking "Is there really only one universe"? Another version of me out there then could tell you about the "single world" model. Perhaps all four of us in those two different worlds will think "No, that's crazy."
