YES!!!!! I am so fucking SICK AND TIRED of the France-bashing in this country, just because--unlike us--the French weren't fucking STUPID enough to participate in the Iraqle (my own little shorthand for "Iraq Debacle").

5. I've never really understood the obsession with it there
Even accounting for how juvenile people got during the start of the Iraq war, the way people talk about France down there you'd think the US and France had been at war for generations or something. Most of the "arguments" in favor of the attitude seem to be a mix of "they're acting just like I am and that's offensive!" or a simpler "it is wrong to be French!" as one guy I know was fond of regularly saying.

Anyone have a clue just where that came from, and why it seems so intensely and specifically focused on them?
