This is what Democracy looks like. Scenes from Madison March 19, 2011 (warn: pics)
Another beautiful day in Madison today. Much smaller crowd than last Saturday - perhaps 70,000 - 100,000 just based on eyeballing / comparing.

Dual purpose rally today: People vs. Scott Walker and Veterans Against the War.

Once again, lotsa great signs.

SOS Doug LaFollette arrived for work early. Doug is the Great Grand-nephew of "Fightin' Bob". Doug was greeted as a hero by Scuba and others for his refusal to publish Walker’s union busting bill until the last possible day. This gave the courts a chance to intervene. Doug said he thinks there’s a good chance Walker won’t be able to muster the votes to pass his monstrosity again. Sadly the motives of those Rethugs who might change their votes is fear of recall, not “seeing the light”.

Marge was there.

This gentleman made a sad but well documented point. He included his last paystub and laid out the figures for how deep a cut Walker wants from him. Conclusion: he can no longer afford to work for the State.

And of course there were lots more great signs from the creative minds of Wisconsinites.

And my favorite:

1. I had a girlfriend from Wisconsin years ago
From that experience I have to say I love the Wisconsinites
This fight they won't give up only reinforces those feelings

17. And we busted them in Iraq.
This one of my pet peeves. I wish people would add it to the list of union busting.

It was one of the first things bush had done, via paul bremer, after he killed a bunch of Iraqis.

12. Spelling error
Sadly, "facists" is incorrectly spelled (he forgot the other "s"). He did get "you're" correct though! :)

Agree on your other points!
