11. You could be right; gotta get that ol' ball rolling and convince the people
why peace keepers are in everyone's best interest.

16. Yes, actually
I know you probably meant that in the standard "snarky dismissal" tone that's popular around here these days, but you're actually right.

Several countries on the continent have soldiers who UN peacekeeping force commanders have consistently described as solid people quite capable of that sort of thing. Rwanda was a debacle, for instance, but people up to and including UNAMIR's commander praised the Tunisian soldiers to the skies for the lengths they went to to try to protect at least some people during the genocide.

The current operation actually forbids ground troops very explicitly, though. If they were showing up, it would almost certainly be in a post-conflict context and a whole new resolution and mission would need to be written up anyway.

12. NO-NO "Peace keeping force" - simply send a video smart bomb into Gadaffi's current address - end of
story!

13. As soon as "international effort" and "intervention" and "France is helping" wear out their welcome.
They sure as hell better have light blue helmets on too, if they do. This is the UN's war, not ours.

17. Do you believe there could be such thing as a military peace-keeping force?
In what situations would you accept the term?

What role would such a force play, assuming such a force could exist?

I'm curious how you might move your opinion past snark and into policy.
