AN ORIGINAL POEM FOR THE PEOPLE OF JAPAN

Behold, the people of all of Japan,
every child,
every woman,
and every man.

Through earthquakes, tsunami,
and radiation fears,
they stand huddled together,
in a torrent of tears.

They truly showed, to the rest of the world,
how strong and together they are.
No panic, no looting, just absolute calm,
in the wake of what seemed like a war.

How calm and how thoughtful, and caring they were,
in the face of a gigantic disaster,
but they showed their resolve to all humans afar
to be human, they are truly the masters.

I salute all the people who managed to survive,
and I mourn all those who have died.
I salute all the people of the disaster in Japan,
every man,
every woman,
and every child.

May you hold on to your hope.
May you rebuild your lives,
May you always have courage,
in your will to survive.
