That is just the cost of the missiles. That doesn't count the cost of sending the ships, the airplanes, and the personnel which would probably double the cost.

There's always enough money to kill people in wars.
It's quick and clean. Starving a nation's economy and social programs, however, that takes time and effort and a good deal of "bi-partisanship."

the guidance package or warhead. Add another $50 million to that price.

11. Who next?
Help me out here.

Provide an example of a Middle East Military Intervention that ended well.

In Afghanistan, we put the Taliban in power,
and now our kids are dying to supress the Taliban and keep an even bigger crook, Hamid Karzai, in power.
We've been there 11 years, ans there is NO end in sight.

In Lebanon, we wound up putting Hezbollah in power.

We Took Out Saddam, and look what happened.
We are looking at Indefinite Occupation with 50,000 troops and at least 80,000 "contractors".

Somalia?
LOL

Who next?
The World has no shortage of Bad Guys.
We are already spending our Rent, Food, and Medicine money on our Military.
How much furhter are you willing to go?

If your concerns are "Humanitarian",
how many more Americans would you deprive of Health Care, Food, or Education to pay for it?

Once we start killing people in Libya (yesterday), how do we stop?
What is the Exit Strategy?

It really is much more complicated than, "YeeHaw! Take him out!!!".

12. I'd be interested to see peoples' opinion of the dollar value of an American versus a brown person.
I doubt I'd get a straight answer, but you can tell a lot of people here think there's definitely a cost issue there.

16. That's OK. We can just fire a few hundred thousand teachers
and public workers to make up for it.
