Ohio Legislator pay not part of state budget cutbacks

COLUMBUS — At the same time that public workers are being told to take wage cuts, pay more toward retirement and health care, and lose collective bargaining rights, the idea of cutting legislators’ pay has gone nowhere.

State Rep. Lynn Wachtmann, R-Napoleon, said a lawmaker pay cut has been discussed but not advanced.

The lawmakers have a conflict of interest here. They participate in whatever perks or cuts they will get.
