Michele Bachmann: Liberal media tries to make me look stupid

Potential GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann said the news media displayed a "double standard" in reporting her gaffe about the Revolutionary War.

Bachmann, a Minnesota congresswoman, said in a radio interview that she flubbed it during an appearance in New Hampshire when she told the audience: "You're the state where the shot was heard around the world in Lexington and Concord."

"I made a mistake. I should've said Massachusetts rather than New Hampshire," Bachmann said on Laura Ingraham's radio show. "But you know, that's the way it goes, and we had a great trip, and I was glad to be able to be there."

Bachmann went on to say that the news media don't cover President Obama's mistakes -- such as once saying on the campaign trail that he had visited 57 states -- "because as we all know, the 3,400 members of the mainstream media are a part of the Obama press contingent." .............(more)
