4. Gadaffi's A Caged Animal...
He's long been a major pain for most of Western Europe and there were many who hoped that the rebels would have done the job a couple weeks ago...call it hoping for Christmas and no present have yet arrived. For the French, Gadaffi's funded many of the civil wars that have turned Sub-Saharan Africa into a killing field for the past 20 years. For those who want some action about Darfur, removing Gadaffi would remove a major supplier of the money and weapons that have been used by Khartoum to subjugate the non-Arab population. Yes, there's the oil component...of course...and having him out of the way may just mean eventual stabilizing of oil supply and prices and for many in this country facing $4 a gallon gas (and even higher in Europe) that's all that matters.

From what I've read, Gadaffi has an antiquated Soviet military gear that may be able to stand up to a bunch of unorganized kids and minor military officers but no match against a well-trained and equipped modern fighting force. The more aid and arms that end up in rebel hands could hasten Gadaffi's demise and that's the ultimate goal here.

6. He has been the source of so many deaths over the last decades...
he has lived a charmed life till now, through terrorizing his own people.
I will cheer when he is dead.
