I like Obama as a person but don't like his policies, & don't care about OSU's coach |
|
Finally after all these years a pollster (Quinnipiac) finally called to inquire about my opinions. The poll took about 10 minutes. They asked about Obama, whether I voted for him & whether I like him as a person and whether I liked his policies. Same with Ohio Gov Kasich (I live in Ohio, obviously). Whether I support collective bargaining and have anyone who belongs to a union in my household. Whether I considered myself well informed on issues and here is the weird part...several questions where about Coach Tressel & OSU sports and even after I stated I don't follow them and know nothing about them wanted to know if I thought he should be fired.
Afterward when I was discussing the poll with my husband (Notre Dame fan) I realized it was good I didn't answer ?s about OSU sports because as informed as I consider myself in current events, I assumed Tressel must be a basketball coach as it is basketball season. Lumping politics & collective bargaining with some football coach? really? :eyes:

of used your ability to buy groceries, along with collective bargaining.

2. You don't care about Jim Tressel? |
|
That's akin to sacrilege for someone living in Columbus..

3. We're one of the few households (guess I'm skewed data) w no connection to OSU |
|
Hubbie & I went to Catholic univerisites and have never followed OSU sport (if you don't & live in central Ohio, fans can seem obnoxious-rioting & setting cars on fire after losing to Michigan? )

4. I wonder if they're seeing if they can advertise anti-labor issues to football fans, |
|
Maybe using the current lockout situation as a model.
I always thought the NFL lockouts (orchestrated by 32 billionaires and near billionaires) were timed to go along with GOP governors' anti-labor push to try and turn public opinion against workers fighting for collective bargaining rights. Many Americans understand life through football. They were testing to see if you were one.
