"This case will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic Law"

This will have the right in a shit-storm today.

Here are the court documents.

So... I did some searching, and found out that the judge is a baptist.

Nielsen has had to recuse himself only once. That was when James Cusack, a member of his Friday morning Bible-study group, appeared as a plaintiff. Nielsen, who attends Idlewild Baptist Church, offered to withdraw from the case, and the defendant agreed, he said.

Anyway... just a heads up.

2. It's turning into the Wild West in 'Murka
I am interested in how this turns out. Will FL use it as an example of why THEY have to outlaw Sharia Law?

4. That's what it looks like to me.
I'm not a lawyer but to me it looks like the court is simply saying that the parties involved have to abide by the arbitrator's ruling, something they presumably had agreed to do.

This is not in any way an imposition of sharia law on the general population nor is it a move in that direction, as the right will no doubt try to spin it. This is apparently a binding arbitration case where the parties agreed to be bound by a decision based on Islamic law.

5. Exactly, Sir
This sort of thing is done with Halachic law routinely.
