Otherwise how can they get the oil sorted out.
It may take time because they will try assassination first.

10. Is it a coincidence that we aren't concerned about Sudan, Yehman, or other areas where the
government is also slaughtering their people?

The one glaring difference I see is more oil in one area than another

14. I think it's about the selective outrage/apathy response...
Edited on Mon Mar-21-11 11:50 AM by Ed Suspicious
Large outrage at dictatorial slaughter of it's people is usually coupled with coincidentally oil producing nations.

21. Speak for yourself. I'm outraged at dictatorial slaughter consistently.
I've noticed that a lot of the Arab revolutions have been ignored until the news tells people to take notice.

When they took notice with Libya this happened: "Oh, Libya has oil. It must be because of the oil!"

And that's it. Case closed.

It's called taking the intellectually lazy path.

Those of us who have been paying attention since it started know that it's about much more than just oil.

BTW, here's some short documentaries which will help catch up with the other grassroots revolutions that have been/are happening...

25. I think most of us are saying TPTB don't ......
care about Qaddafi slaughtering his people & we will not be in a war to actually stop him from doing that.

Yes, TPTB will try selling it as humanitarian but we all know it is really about TPTB's interests which include oil.
The could care less about the slaughter of Qaddafi's people.

My point is, I think DU is obsessed with the fact, that this whole thing it is about things like oil and 'that' pisses off DU.

 Maybe we are reading different DU's?

The goal is control the coalition that replaces him, one that is deferential to the oil companies, a/k/a The United States.

26. You know most of Libyan energy gets exported to the EU, correct?
The largest players in the oil business are all multi-nationals now.

We still have Exxon-Mobil, but that is it, the rest are all based elsewhere around the world.

30. Yeah, but Qadaffi refused to pump, so...
...the multinationals had to direct their client governments to take him out, in order to make the oil flow. And to get exploration crews in there.

The fact that Libyan production is finally back to 1980 levels, and the first use of Western military (SAS) in Libya was evacuating exploration crews notwithstanding, of course.

12. The media has pretty much already reached that conclusion somehow.
It didn't take long to realize that the "rebel" force can't possibly pull this off & since we already dropped a buch of bombs, we mine as well go in & "Finish the Job".

My guess is that this "rebel cause" humanitarian thing was a very simple a way to fool the public and prime us into going along with the coming invasion.

16. There's no doubt.
Another illegal, immoral attack - the result of geoengineering by the Powers That Be, funding this revolution here, this revolution there, and, when their revolutionaries fail, then the bombings and attacks begin. Word is that the targeted thugs in question, many of whom they put in power, hadn't been sufficiently deferential lately.

I never say something like, "We attacked Libya." I've disapproved of their imperialism and militarism and attacks since my youth. I say, "The U.S. (or NATO) did (this or that) ..."

Shame on those who think that war/attack/occupation is the answer to anything.

20. sadly and regardless that it is more than obvious some need help in the end there
Will be those behind closed doors scheming wildly on how to ensure how that exact help will benefit those it simply should not, and by counting on that very scenario as fact based, the good the bad and the ugly will surely once again over shadow the humanity of just whom this coming ends up destroying
