we get canadians in buffalo for shopping all the time because of it. i remember when our money was worth more when we used to go up to canada all the time many years ago. sadly, theirs has been worth more for some time now.

i live near buffalo and canadians come over to get good deals all the time and they talk about it on the news around here. they're just jealous. when the dollar is up then people go over to canada to get a good deal.

Canada has a lot of metal minerals that have been benefitting from high market prices. For example, one of Canada's main metals, nickel, is now worth so much that the nickel in a Canadian nickel is worth more than the coin's face value.

It was nice for my vacation in Florida in February and March.
When I moved to Canada in August 1969 the Cdn dollar was 14 cents more than than the US dollar. It was sad when it went lower than the US dollar - as low as 45 cents lower. I didn't vacation those years.
It is nice to have more bang for my buck.
