They can level hilltops where I live... |

...to expand the wicked death manufacturing machine known as General Atomics, at our expense.
Then the powers that be go on the airwaves and talk of "shared sacrifices" we must make because we are "broke". Raise the age of retirement, cut our pensions, and slash our social safety nets.
This country is itching for a revolution.

3. We have a conundrum and are in a fine pickle! |
|
Major, multinational corporations own and/or supply just about everything we need to survive right now. The only exception might be for rural folks who come together and coop food and other things to be locally sustainable. Still, that's a hard road to hoe.
Many of us recognize now that those corporations are actually the enemy. They are merely veils for the wealthy and powerful families at the top who have leveraged what they have to push out the small companies and Mom & Pop's so that we are just about totally beholden to them.
So, if a revolution were going to be the brunt of change, justice, and equity, our enemies could simply shut off our supply of anything and everything until we were, in essence, begging for mercy. What kind of revolution would that be? A very, very short one. PTB wins again.
So, a pre-revolution would have to be about creating new, local and sustainable ways to be able to live and function with less and less corporate dependency because, right now, we are infants at their tit. That's how far into Serfdom for our Corporate Overlords we have descended, overall.

4. I disagree. Patriotism of the jingoistic type seems to be at an all |

time high; the government is 10 or 100 times more powerful than every before. The dissenters are horribly divided, to the extreme left, or to the extreme right. So where this "revolution" would come from, I don't know. I don't see anything like that happening. dc
