A ziplock bag full of literature. Kind of weird. I called my friend, a long time China vet, about it and she told me not to throw it out. Burn, flush or shred it because people always go through trash here and could find it.

I wonder if I was targetted cause I'm a foreigner, so maybe they felt safe putting it on my door. But, with the Fiancee being Chinese, I took no chances and we destroyed it. I've never had to actually be sacred of something like that before. Actually having police come by, see forbidden literature and harrassing my loved ones was a real possibility. Kind of spooky when you actually HAVE something like that happen.

I wonder if it was the locksmith who left it.

2. FG is outlawed in China
I'm guessing it's probably illegal to have any of their literature as well

15. Now I see. How skeezy to leave stuff on your door.
Still very supportive. You haven't done anything illegal. You can't be the only person that has been approached by FG this way.
The authorities must know that completely uninvolved people get these things.

Psychic slap to who-ever did this to you.

3. It is a banned religion in China.
Thousands are in prison because of it. My GF isn't involved in it at all. It was the FG version of door knocking.

12. I went to an Amnesty International meeting, just one, where the speaker
was FG. This was at least ten years ago. I was very disappointed in AI. It was like they hadn't vetted out the guest speaker. They passed a paper out in support of the cause and it was me, a first time member who asked the hard questions. What was their agenda? Why would the Chinese ban them? At that time all they said was that they were an exercise group. They didn't even mention it was a religion!

I immediately got suspicious, but, as a good will gesture I signed the document which didn't say much in the way of a mission statement. It could have applied generically to anything. Then I realized it was undated. Why is this undated I said. And the answer I received was sheepishly lame.

No offense, but that was my first face to face with AI. I know that there are other charters who have incredibly brilliant people working for them because I've spoken to them through the internet, but I wasn't in that group. I never went back again.

Finding good activist groups in Central Florida is nearly impossible.

4. Are you in China?
If so, I would shred it, burn it and flush the ashes.

Much safer to practice Yang 24 step and leave it at that.

14. That happened to me too!
While living in Wuhan. My wife and I came home to find something similar. My wife's face blanched a bit when she saw it. I remember the English text section reading something like "prosecute the criminal Zhang Zemin for murder" or some such. That did it for me. We burned it and washed the ashes down the sink. The wife called her father who is a Party member and government official. He didn't seem especially alarmed, I was a foreigner after all and likely to be targeted for such attention. It happened only once, and nothing was ever noticed or said.

To be honest, sometimes I do wonder if this was some sort of set-up.

17. True China
When someone is supressed and persecuted, what do you do? Will you take the oppurtunity and do a honest thing, or will you turn your back on?

Good people is persecuted in the most terrifying ways by an illegal regime. CCP is not the true China, the communists have destroyed countless cultural relics and things from the glorious true chinese culture. CCP stands for evilness, they do not want people to be honest and good people, CCP hate what is traditional and upright. So they persecute people who just want to follow what always have been seen as natural, have roots in the true chinese culture. CCP is a ghost from the west which have hijacked the people - why dont educated westerners know this?

I will highly recommend "Nine commentaries on the communist party", to read, there is a video version as well. Specially for westerners who have anything to do with China.

Reporters without borders says:
Xinhua: the world’s biggest propaganda agency
http://en.rsf.org/china-xinhua-the-world-s-biggest-30-09-2005,15172.html

CCP creates false things in the west, a facade, like the Confuzius Institute, etc. They put out their own controlled versions of religions with leaders who dont believe in god... - CCP should be acknowledged as the highest authority - the children sing songs in schools which put the party above their own mother.

I see that you are a canadian, here is a link to two well respected canadian citizens, they know the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong:

An Independent Investigation into Allegations of organ Harvesting of Falun gong practitioners in china
by David Matas, Esq. and Hon. David Kilgour, Esq.
http://organharvestinvestigation.net/

So many people in China is asking good hearted westerners for help, if you receive a discret information another time, please consider what the right thing to do is.

;-)

I saw this earlier today, maybe it could be of some interest:

18. The OP was acting for the best interest of his fiancee and her family
I'm sure he is well aware of what was done to the Falun Gong, as are most of us "China hands". As for the CCP not being "true China", what is I ask you? Absolute, autocratic power concentrated in the hands of a few seems quite consistent with the political history of China.

As for the suppression of tradition, much of what existed in the past NEEDS to be suppressed. Pre-revolutionary China was NOT something to be admired, romanticized, or pined for.
