hate the black guy in the WH - the more Libertarian-leaning folks, have gotten an inkling when the money stopped pouring in from the Koch brothers and their ilk. I heard some little peeps about the baggers organizing and protesting, but without the big bucks, there was scant coverage.

7. There are exactly twenty-seven of them. |

I counted. There used to be 28, but their demographic skews old, and, you know...
The rest will march in whatever direction they're pointed.

They will never "realize it". They are being sold on a "selfishness" doctrine. If their heros take whatever then can get and screw everybody else (including them) then so what? The "selfishness" is still intact. THAT is what they worship and identify with.

They will continue to fuss, scream, and carry on until a Republican is elected. Then they will be silent as the Republican President betrays everything they claim to stand for: balanced budgets, lowered deficit, etc. Then, eventually, a Democrat will once again become President. Then they will scream, fuss, and carry on again about balanced budgets, lowering the deficit, etc. See: Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush (the greater), Bill Clinton, George Bush (the lesser), Barrack Obama...
It's the pattern they follow. They don't give a shit how much a R increases the deficit and breaks the budget, but let a D take office, and it suddenly matters. It's not about spending the money, or even what the money is spent on, it's about who's spending the money.
