Fla. Gov. Scott orders state employee drug testing
<snip>

"Florida Gov. Rick Scott has ordered drug testing of new hires and spot checks of existing state employees under his control, but his directive may face a legal challenge.

Scott issued an executive order Tuesday requiring each of his agencies to amend its drug testing policy within 60 to require pre-employment screenings of all job applicants and random testing of the existing work force.

The American Civil Liberties Union, meanwhile, pointed out that a federal judge in 2004 ruled random drug testing of state employees was unconstitutional."

15. I think the majority who sat out that election were lazy and complacent
I bet they do feel stupid now. I worked against my local baggers and begged everyone I new to vote against them, but it wasn't enough to stop them. I feel politically impotent now,but I will do it again.

5. it covers...
The governor's order includes senior managers as well as career service employees.

It does not cover independent constitutional agencies and those of Cabinet members or that he jointly administers with the Cabinet. It also does not cover the Legislature or court system.

In late 2002, HCA agreed to pay the U.S. government $631 million, plus interest, and pay $17.5 million to state Medicaid agencies, in addition to $250 million paid up to that point to resolve outstanding Medicare expense claims.<24> In all, civil law suits cost HCA more than $2 billion to settle, by far the largest fraud settlement in US history.<25>

8. Rick Snott should be Baker Acted.

Until he can prove mental competency to an unbiased board of MH professionals.

And then he needs to answer for all the Medicare/Medicare funds he stole.

11. The crook or King has spoken
This is when you know someone has gone off the deep end. If anyone remembers the Woody Allen movie "Bananas" this will resonate. "We will now be wearing our underwear over our pants"
