Corporatocracy....
After reading over all of the titles on GD, this thought struck me: When are they just going to come out and give our country to the corporations and stop pretending we are nothing less than a Corpratocracy? We aren't a Democratic Republic anymore. We are weakening the judiciary. We are screwing workers trying to make them tantamount to slaves. I could go on, but of course, I won't. You already know about it. I would also really like to know what we are going to do about. Can we do anything about it? Do we have the nuts to do anything about it?

1. So there is no difference between republicans and democrats?
So if they had elected a democrat in Wisconsin, he would still be destroying Union rights? If there was a republican president he would have signed the health care bill, or signed the DADT repeal? I don't think so Republicans are evil its a simple as that.

5. No argument, Republicans are worse...........
But come on, how much better was Blanche Lincoln or Ben Nelson than your average Republican? Not much, IMO. The heroes that are left are ALL Dems, yes, but SOME of the villians are Dems too. We have to recognize that fact or we're just pissing into the wind.

4. End the Corporate Occupation of America!
Some might think that phrase to be sensationalistic or overblown. Others might see that it represents the final phase of a total business takeover where multinational corporations, (which are veils for the wealthy owners) directly and overtly call the shots for the rest of us.

The very odd thing about this end-game is that the Teabbagies and Wrekthuglicans are wedged-up the butts of the corporations as if those mega-companies are something as patriotic and decent as the ol' apple pie. As these human wrecking-balls we now have at the front lines begin the final decimation on the State and Federal levels, their supporters call liberals and democrats evil terrorists who are creating the results we see. That not only reverses the real issues, but it buys time and creates a delusional opposition to anyone or anything that opposes the total takeover.

Image the savings and advantages of America Incorporated and the dictatorial Supreme Board of Directors. Even then, the gullible will follow the path of faithful Serfdom as the last drops of collective wealth are squeezed out of the new Underclass and a highly polished form of techno-tyranny takes hold and overshadows the land.

6. We haven't ever truly been any of those things....
Edited on Tue Mar-22-11 05:21 PM by DeSwiss
...we simply had a more reasonable facsimile of a democratic republic, because the power wasn't as concentrated as it is now. But now the gloves have come off. There's less of a need to pretend now that they've gained so much power and control. Example: 80% of America was against the Financial Bailout Bill and yet Congress ignored us completely and passed it. And the bankers hold onto that cash and refuse to make loans while they give each other bonuses. And it is we who've been put on the hook for all $1.4 trillion of it. Now they're coming after Social Security -- if we haven't gone totally bankrupt before that can happen. I suppose we'll see just how much difference there is between Dems and Repukes on this issue.

The reality is, the rich have come to believe that Americans won't do anything while their government is stolen right from under their noses. With some exceptions now we're beginning to see that ain't so. How far we'll take it before they bring out the tanks, and microwave guns and the other high tech gadgets we've been buying for them to use against "our enemies" remains to be seen.

- I still believe that there's still time to get it back but the longer we wait, the higher the price will be in blood.....
