BANKER: The Public Needs To Work Harder For Less Money And 50% Fewer Benefits
BANKER ON HOW TO SOLVE DEBT CRISIS: The Public Needs To Work Harder For Less Money And 50% Fewer Benefits

Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/hans-jorg-rudloff-barcap-work-more-less-benefits-2011#ixzz1HMwyyTMT

An investment banker from BarCap recently told the Forum of Economic News that he's got the solution to bring "competitiveness" back to the European Union.

Cut benefits by half, and make everyone work harder.

(snip)

The comments from Hans-Jörg Rudloff, the head of the Management Board of investment bank Barclays Capital, will obviously infuriate the public, who will remember that BarCap paid out bonuses that were so good this year that bankers gathered at a bar immediately after work for a champagne toast to everyone receiving "at least a £600,000 bonus."

Here's a transcript of what he said:

"Europe is carrying a social rucksack, which makes us uncompetitive in this world. We have provided living standards for our populations which are unheard of, which no one ever thought would be possible, for the last 50 years."

"People do not want to give up these living standards."

Apparently there are Scott Walker types trolling around Europe as well.

Workers of the world need to unite, demand fair and decent wages and the ability to retire in good health. We need a new FDR desperately....

10. Instead of a new FDR ..........
I beginning to believe we need a new Lenin or Trotsky. FDR was trying to SAVE his class which consisted of people like this. As I've said before, they couldn't even save themselves because of their hubris.

But workers of the world DO need to unite because the capitalists are international.

29. A little American context: think about the concessions
Made by public workers in Wisconsin, think about UAW
Concessions made to keep GM jobs in Indiana --
His side is winning - with moderate 'liberals' helping them.

33. The killers want to frame their victims.
Fuckers like him have been saying this bullshit for 50 years...

Interesting that he concedes Europe has carried this terrible burden for so many decades... and yet the disaster his ilk keep promising never seems to come. They just keep getting richer... at least until the BANKERS burned the people's wealth.

This is sheer projection. His class did the killing, and they want to frame the victims.

42. That's just frickin great!
They demonized unions and busted them up. Now they're demonizing our benefits. Pretty soon,
companies will begin cutting benefits and making us pay more. Then, many companies will cut
out benefits entirely. No one will notice thought, because they will screw over the little
guys first, and the little guy has no voice and no power. And Mr. Middle class will believe
that it won't happen to him. Then it will. Then the majority of Americans will have no benefits
or will pay handsomely for them.

Then, when only 20 percent of Americans have full benefits--these crooks will point to those
people and declare that they are selfish, greedy and a drain on the rest of us. Class warfare
just like they did with the unions.

I don't think these butt heads will be happy until we're all working in dilapidated factories 15 hours
a day for 10 cents an hour.

47. Thanks for pointing out that I wrote this...
...that's really poor grammar isn't it? It's one of those
annoying phrases that sticks out like a sore thumb.

I always notice when people start a sentence with the word
"hopefully".

I type very fast and sometimes I type as if I were speaking, and
I bet I say "I don't think" more than I realize.

Thanks for mentioning this!
