I’m not a fucking cash cow.
I’m not a cash cow to support the highly profitable insurance industry. The government needs to stop seeing us as such.

Listening to CNN today I heard a couple of things that bothered me. First I heard I was a cash cow. That’s right, we uninsured are an unexploited cash cow that needs to be utilized to get coverage for people who are currently denied coverage. That upset me a great deal. It’s one thing to know in the back of your mind what you are to the elite, it’s another to be told so bluntly what you are.

Then I heard that to cover the uninsured in this country would cost $1000 per family in the US. That led me to a quick google search which lead me to this link:

http://finance.econsultant.com/aetna-2008-revenue-profit-2009-fortune-500-rank/

It appears Aetna is a very profitable company. Profitable to the tune of 1.384 Billion dollars in 2008. That’s 1 insurance provider for 1 year.

Yet they need us to provide the funding to cover the under/uninsured.

I’m not a fucking cash cow here only to support the ultra wealthy. I’m sick and tired of this administration seeing me as exactly that.

1. How much do I hate Aetna and CVS!
SO MUCH! But I'm stuck with them.

They are scammy and cheap ass on payouts,
yet their executives are milking this
cash cow for all its worth. The whole
thing sucks.

2. Exactly. Simpson likes to talk about us being 'teet suckers'.
In actuality, it is US, the citizens, who are being sucked dry by the corporatists and Empire.
They are killing the cow.

5. I do not understand that at all either.
Generally speaking business people know how to do one thing very well, generate income. Why are they working so very hard to kill the golden goose or the cash cow.

The only conclusion I can come to is they know for a fact the real collapse is coming and their goal is to get as much out of us before that happens.

7. In the shower this morning (don't ask why, I have no idea, lol), I thought the same thing -
they are sticking it to us for as much as they possibly can, stuffing the profits in Swiss bank accounts so that when the collapse comes, the pain will be minimal.

3. Vampires
I swear this system has become not only corrupt but abusive. How dare them mock the sick as we suffer. I too am going through the system now, and wonder how people are supposed to make insurance payments as they are going through a major life crisis, with no job.

The rhetoric we now hear is evidence that we are on our own, unless we absolutely demand services we PAID for our whole lives.

8. Even with the new HCR law the system is still set up for us to die
rather than get treatment. What do we get for that failed system? The right to be forced to pay for a faulty product. It disgusts me.

4. Helluva society where the reaction to other people's illnesses and injuries...
...is to speculate on how a profit can be made off it.

6. Imagine it was made illegal somehow for you to remove a tick from your body

How large might the tick become before it killed you, its host, through attrition? From the tick's point of view, you might have become very tiny, and in the mind of the tick which is simple and directed to the singular purpose of getting bigger and reproducing itself endlessly, the relationship between parasite and host might very well appear reversed.

9. Mostly because you don't have any cash
But the value of your labor can still be strip-mined, and appropriated from you to the gaping pockets of the affluent, who can never get quite enough money. Worker productivity has risen quite steadily since 1980, while wages have barely nudged upward. There's a great deal of wealth being created through the hard work of millions, but it isn't going into their pockets. Where could it be going? Think, think . . .

10. Damned if that's not the truth.
One broke joke over here. x(

Our increase in productivity with no gain financially is beyond insane as well.
