2. If you're referring to the CNN poll, that's incorrect. Here's a link to the |
topic I posted about it yesterday, including how political views and parties affected the responses: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x710347

11. Interesting that Democrats and repubs equally oppose ground troops. |
"there's about a 10-12% difference in whether people favor or oppose, depending on political party and liberal/conservative identification.
But compared to lots of other issues, that isn't a huge difference.
About 2/3 of Democrats and self-identified liberals approve of the no-fly zone. About half approve of using planes and missiles to attack Gadhafi's forces. Only 3 in 10 would approve of using ground troops. But that's 28% of Democrats. 29% of liberals. And even fewer Republicans approved of using ground troops."

6. Anti-war forces do have their work cut out for them. Time to get to work! |
I am confident that public opinion can be galvanized against this war. It will take a serious struggle. But it can be done.

7. Nice to see a minority of the population is making its voice heard, |
Since Democats make up roughly thirty percent of the population, that means that roughly sixty five million support the air strikes, or approximately twenty percent. A distinct minority.

10. actually, it doesn't necessarily mean that |
but even if 90% of the population supported it, that wouldn't make it right.

9. so what? if true it doesn't make it right or wise just because |
of that support. And anyone who thinks it does is, of course, a fucking moron.
